To be able to provide this website, we do process personal data: Your Name, Email, Institution(s), Courses and XP levels. This processing happens under GDPR Article 6. 1f ('legitimate interest'). If you do not want your data to be processed, you can delete your profile. We also periodically delete inactive profiles after 2 years of non-usage.
Like most servers, we store server logs of all requests. These logs include information such as the users ip address, a timestamp, the browsers user agent and the target url. We need to save the ip address to identify bad requests (such as hacking attempts). These logs are kept for 14 days and deleted afterwards.
We are proud to say that we're free of tracking cookies. You'll only get one Cookie while on the site and this is the session cookie that will be removed when you log out.
We take account security very serious. We're using state-of-the-art password hashing and salting methods and all files you're uploading (for example attachments on assignments) will be stored fully encrypted and only be decrypted before you or a student is downloading it.
The file encryption also uses part of your user information so if you choose to delete your account, all files you previously uploaded won't be decryptable and will be automatically deleted.
All your data is hosted by Haschek Solutions in Austria on solar powered servers. We use a gateway server (reverse proxy) for caching which is hosted in Germany by Hetzner.
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activities in general and of course also on Socialcube.
Socialcube does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to get in contact with their teacher or with us via firstname.lastname@example.org
